I’ve had over 4 decades of life to evolve and I have become many things…

Mom, Wife, LGBTQ+ community member, Leader, HR Tech Industry Geek, Board Member, Booster Club Treasurer, Dog Lover, Volunteer, Friend, Colleague,  Drummer, News Junkie, ACL Rehabber, Safe Tech for Teens Advocate, and Longhorn Football Fan – Hook ’em!

The crew of pre-teens and adolescents that I parent will tell you that I “always” turn everything into a life lesson and often get labeled as the safety minded one of the family.  My retort is usually something about how much Rizz I have in ‘Adult world’ and I get some solid eye rolls, which I live for. I am SO embarrassing all of the sudden!

A Risk Manager by nature, there is definitely room for me to sometimes just sit back and passively watch to see what happens in my personal life more often.  ;)   My team would tell you I’m known for my reliability, consistency, people-centered coaching, always pushing for operational excellence.  I can traverse wildly different elevations within the business each day (30,000 ft above to 10,000 feet under the ocean and back) without it feeling taxing and live to see the day where the team accomplishes more than they believed they could and are celebrated by all!

Career Changer

10 years into my career in Healthcare as licensed & registered Dietitian, I became a Mom of twins.  The plan had always been for me to be a stay-at-home-mom and enjoy part-time work and hobbies.  Well, turns out that didn’t work for me.  I thrive when I balance that mom role with a career that challenges my critical thinking skills and allows me to have frequent, meaningful adult human interactions to solve real world problems and impact a mission I care about.

So, I was offered a flexible operations role within a growing franchise brand leading operations and people-centered administration for a multi-unit franchisee.  Small Business Owners have to wear about 13 hats per day, and I was given about 9 hats to wear, including hiring, payroll, training coordination, HR, operational consistency, and employee recognition.

A few years later, I got my first taste of the tech world working in operations for a company that creates and moderates digital C-Suite communities for Fortune500 executives.  That was just less than a year, but felt like the experience of 5 years in one.

Then, CareerPlug and I found each other in 2017.  Clint Smith was a tech Founder with an incredible Vision/Dream who was at $4M ARR with 40 employees, growing rapidly, and desperately needed to stand up some operational infrastructure.  He saw my potential and I earned my way to the President role when we reached about 60 employees.  I have found my calling as an Operational Leader in tech, and more specifically, People-Operations technology that supports the SMB market. I believe small business is the heart and fabric of the US and hitching myself to the Mission/Vision/Values of CareerPlug has been an incredible nearly 8 years and continues to be where my heart beats strong.  We are 4 years into operating using EOS and it’s been such a journey of learning and refining.  As Integrator, I see my role as doing whatever it takes to see this organization to the realization of it’s current 3-Year Vision, ending Summer of 2026.

Industries & Experience

Wide-ranging experiences create more holistic thinkers.  Exposed to several different industries and professional communities, I bring a well-rounded approach to my work and operational approaches.

If you are a colleague, peer, boss, direct report, client, or anyone I collaborate with professionally, this is helpful context about my working syle.
